If you are looking for a compact device, take a look at this one I bought two of these vacuums used and I love them! And we needed a powerful vacuum to suck up mounds of dander and hair. We have three cats, two dogs, and a bird in the house. I have to say that it worked very very well on our hard floors as well. I usually sweep our floors and then sweep again and again. I have never even thought of vacuuming hard floors until I found this. Keeping up with pets is so difficult. This vacuum decreased the amount of time I spent sweeping our floors drastically. And it was amazing seeing the stuff that was sucked out of the carpet. It is a bit heavy, but it doesn't use bags, which I love! All around its a great product and I love this vacuum! I've owned 3 Bissell vacuums before I received this one and I've never had an issue with them. I've had more expensive vacuum cleaners and they weren't worth the money that we spent on them! I have some health issues and it's important that my vacuum not be extremely heavy nor hard to push. So when I got this one today- I thought ok no time like the present to clean my house and use it!! We own 3 dogs so I need something to help pick up the dog hair...well I can tell you that this vacuum is amazing!! Not too heavy, picked up all dirt (and then some), very easy to push and all around out standing!! I'm very happy with it and I can tell you that I'll be a loyal bissell customer when I need cleaning products in the future!! Thank you, Bissell for making a good quality vacuum and for making me a happy person!! If you have dogs and carpets this vacuum is great. However if you're like me and trying to vacuum up cat litter off tile, it's going to shoot back at you and you'll never get it off the floor.

Also none of my bare floors have ever gotten clean of dog treat crumbs, the brush slingshots particles across the room during every pass. The hose would continuely come out the base, the extender wasn't long enough to reach much of anything, and there is no time I've used the extender that hasn't been extremely difficult. This is due to the way you must try to hold the vacuum and the extender at the same time because of the awkward design. I regret buying this vacuum. It meets zero of my needs. If I could have given it zero stars i would have. Sorry to hear this! It sounds like you may need a vacuum with a brush on/off switch for your hard floors. GIve us a call and we may be able to help! Just bought this vacuum a month ago. The first time I vacuumed was AMAZING. We just got brand new carpet about three months ago, and prior to using the bissell, the carpet was already starting to look worn and old!! And it was only two months old!!! When I vacuumed with the new bissell the difference in my carpet was astounding!

It was like the first day we got new carpet! It picked up sooooo much hair and dirt, I had to clean the canister after each room! Just goes to show how much my old vacuum was missing! The tools are amazing, and exactly what I wanted for my multi pet home!!! I just recently went to the retail store I bought the vacuum from and couldn't find ANY of the replacement parts I needed. I like to have filters on hand just in case. Came online to see if I could find any there, and found that one of the febreze filters has been discontinued, and you can now only purchase the regular filter. Really upsetting to see that because one of the main reasons I purchased this vacuum was because of the febreze options. If I would've been able to order BOTH of the filters in the febreze option, I would've rated 5+ stars!!!! We experienced a roller brush problem almost immediately with our new Bissell vacuum. I kept having to replace the belt and eventually the roller brush froze. I contacted Bissell customer service to ask for suggestions.

I sent pictures of the frozen roller brush (ends melted) and roller brush housing (also melted). I had not saved the receipt and had no real proof that the vacuum was only 2 months old. To my delight and to the credit of Bissell Customer Support, they put the customer first (me) and replaced the vacuum with a new one. It is very refreshing to find a company these days that just does the right thing. I am a Bissell customer for life now. By the way, we have had no problems with our replacement vacuum and love the way it cleans. Sometimes you just get a faulty part. The customer service representative I dealt with at Bissell was always courteous and professional. I love this vacuum. I cannot believe all the hair it gets up from my pets. Also since we just moved into a new house before we got the vacuum it has really come in handy getting the previous pet hair out of the carpet. The hair removing tool is wonderful on the chairs that my cats love to lay upon. The febreze filter is a pleasant added bonus.

All in all very pleased with this vacuum and recommend it if you have pets. Just bought this machine yesterday and it's such a big step up from my last clunky vacuum. This particular model came with a Premium Febreeze filter that my wife absolutely loved. It also came with a pet brush attachment but no storage space for the somewhat large attachment. Cord length was generous but our apartment is on the smaller side so this may be subjective. All in all this a great machine with powerful suction. I am very happy with my purchase. Lightweight which makes it easy to carry and use on my stairs. The attachable pet tools are perfect for getting pet hair off of furniture and hard to reach places. The tank is easy to empty and clean. The dirt can collect in the grooves at the bottom of the tank but most of that was easy to clean out by rinsing it and using a Q-tip to get in the places you can't quite reach with your hand. I like my appliances perfectly clean after using them because we have 2 labrador retrievers and the smell of a vacuum after its collected pet hair and dander is plain disgusting.
