We walked the auto show floor looking for spare tires.  What we found should worry you. Automakers are doing everything in their power to ditch the spare tire.  On cars and crossovers, full-size spares are long gone, but the “donut” compact spare is also endangered. The excuse car makers are using is that spare tires add weight and thus, make cars less fuel efficient. We’d believe them except that in the spot where the spare is suppose to be they are putting in subwoofers and amplifiers. A walk through the Boston Auto Show revealed that spares have disappeared from popular cars in every category. Yes, run-flat tires have been expanding slowly, but many of the new 2016 models we spotted don’t use run-flat tires and don’t have a compact spare either. And bear in mind that run-flats mean a tow if the sidewall is damaged.  They only work with certain types of flats. Many 2016 models have no spares and no run-flat tires. So many that AAA created this handy list that details what models have what type of flat-tire plan.
We spoke to a manufacturer who told us the included roadside assistance is the flat-tire plan. That means if one of your tires goes flat, then you call a tow truck and they take your car away. Imagine being in that situation with a baby in a car seat. If it is nighttime, Sunday, or a holiday you are without a car. We saw compact crossovers, mid-size sedans, and popular hybrid hatchbacks with no spare. These are not Vipers and Corvettes, but family cars.best way to clean dry grout off tiles Automakers that are stealing your spare are leaving behind a prank they call a repair kit. which is the best steam cleaner for groutHere’s how these work. pool vacuum head and hose
First you find a safe place to deal with the situation, just like if you were going to put a spare on (or have AAA do it for you). Next, you remove the kit and start with the valve core removal tool. You use the tweezer-like tool to remove the tiny insert inside the air valve stem. The instructions caution that it could fly out and that you need to put it someplace clean because if it gets dirty, it won’t work when it goes back in.what does it cost to rent a carpet cleaner at home depot While the core is out, you squeeze some liquid gunk into the tire. how much does it cost to steam clean a car engineThis assumes it is not -20F and that the liquid hasn’t changed phase to a solid. best memorial day pool party las vegas
Once the fluid is in, you replace the tiny valve core. One quick note if you find your throat constricting and you are itchy all over. The repair liquids can contain liquid latex. One kit has this warning: “In case of allergic reaction or rash, consult physician immediately.” Once you have that teeny valve stem-core-thing back in properly, use the inflator to inflate the tire. This will take awhile. vacuum cleaner prices nigeriaThe pump is a little fella. Then you drive off, but not far. You stop after a bit and you get out and re-check the pressure. If all that worked, you drive on, slowly, and get the tire fixed ASAP. If it did not work you yell “FU…DGE” like Ralphy in A Christmas Story, and call the tow truck. The all-new Chrysler Pacifica does offer a spare tire. In this case, a compact, inflatable spare tucked neatly inside the rear fender. These spares are deflated tires awaiting pumping by you with the little pump provided.
This seems like a much better alternative than the silly kit and will work in the event of a side-wall tear. We should mention, though that the Chrysler Pacifica Limited replaces the tire with a vacuum cleaner (the most powerful in-van vacuum in its class!). You can order a Pacifica Limited with the vacuum deleted, but then you’re the only parent at the PG without one. A 2016 Dodge Dart Limited can come with a compact spare tire, but you have to pay an additional $395.00. Dodge and Chrysler give you the option for a spare.  Many Jeeps still have full size, matching spares.  Why don’t all brands make spares available on family cars? While we were at the show, we checked out the 2016 Lincoln Continental to see if it was sporting a Continental Kit, the most awesome of all spare tire appendages. It was not, so if you want to add your own you will just have to do what the most practical Miata owner in America did. 1000W bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner 5-metre cord offers an operating circle of 10 metres

Carpets need to be vacuumed once a week and more often in areas that are prone to dirt.
This will prolong the life of your carpet and prevent a build-up of dirt. Whether you have coffee stains on a cream-coloured carpet, crayon marks from cheeky toddlers, or simply a build-up of everyday dust and dirt, all carpets need a little care and attention every now and then. What puts many homeowners off of carpet cleaning is the effort involved in moving furniture and waiting for the fibres to dry, but carpet care doesn’t have to be difficult. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to clean carpets with ease, here are a few swift, simple ways to remove stubborn stains and lingering smells. Tried and Tested Carpet Cleaning Tips How to use powder as a carpet cleaner Using powder is a great way to clean your carpet. This is the best strategy for cleaning your carpet with powder, whether it's a powdered carpet cleaner or baking soda: Sprinkle the powder liberally over the carpet. Leave the powder for at least 30 minutes – but if you can leave it overnight, all the better – this gives the cleaner time to work, softening the stains and consuming the odours.
Vacuum up the powder when you’re done. How to use carpet shampoo Carpet shampoo is another popular way to clean your carpets. There are many different brands of carpet shampoo, so make sure that you follow the guidance on the label. Make up the solution as directed on the packaging. In many cases, the product will need to be diluted with water. Use just enough carpet shampoo to cover the area. Do not make the carpet too wet – not only is this a waste of detergent, but it’s also going to increase drying time. Scrub on the particularly stubborn areas using a hard-bristled brush. Let the carpet dry. Vacuum the shampoo once it has dried. The Best Carpet Cleaners for You: Powder or Shampoo? When it comes to cleaning carpets, plain old soap and water just isn’t going to cut it, especially if you’re dealing with persistent stains, deep-seated odours, or years worth of caked-on muck. Most people go for either carpet powder or carpet shampoo when cleaning the carpets in their home.
For tackling stains and dirt, it’s worth looking for a dedicated carpet powder rather than a shampoo if you want to make it a quick job. Shampoos can take hours to dry, leaving the room off-limits until ready. Powdered products can be vacuumed up much quicker, and do just as good a job. Whatever carpet cleaning product you use, make sure to read the directions and follow any instructions. Natural Carpet Cleaning Products If you’d rather use natural carpet cleaning products, there are some everyday kitchen cupboard staples that work wonders. Most people have heard about using soda water or tonic water to counteract coffee stains, but salt is also a good alternative for removing dirt or soaking up fresh stains. Also, baking soda absorbs those nasty smells hiding amongst the fibres. Remember, when using a new cleaning method or product, always test it on a small area first. Handy Carpet Stain Remover Tricks For isolated stains, it’s always best to get them up as soon as possible before they really dry into the carpet material.
Remember, don’t be tempted to wipe any stains – blot them instead to prevent the stain from smudging or going deeper into the carpet. While you can spot clean using a detergent, it’s also worth trying these handy stain remover tricks, too, depending on the source of the stain: For sticky stains like gum, harden it using an ice cube before prying it off. For smelly stains, mix equal parts vinegar and warm water and apply to the area with a cloth. So there you have it – stain-free carpets can be yours. Enjoy fresher, brighter-looking rooms! Powdered carpet cleaners are quicker to use as they can be vacuumed up – there’s no lengthy drying process involved. Use a hard bristled brush with a solution of water, and carpet shampoo to scrub stains. Baking soda can be used as a deodoriser. Always remember to test any cleaning products on a small area first.
