That would be bad. But I was relieved when the unit I received had what I believe to be the updated battery compartment cap. The older units seem to come with one that had clips on the side so maybe that was the issue all along? Regardless, as you see in the video I load the battery compartment seal up with silicone lube like how my son likes his toast - "lots of jelly Papa."

Safe to say I have opened it twice now in three weeks since getting it and no water inside, "yeah!" - If you haven't seen the video I use Magic Silicone Lube for the water seal. With that out of the way, this thing works great. It comes with 8 knock off Duracell looking batteries so I am sure it will run longer and better with fresh batteries. But so far no complaints. The power is good enough to do exactly what it designed to do - pick up the leaves on the bottom. Like all leaf vacs it won't pick up large branches or rocks, some small seed pods are okay - picks up good size acorns no problem.

swimming pool vacuum doesn't work Pressure pool cleaners are among the most popular types of pool cleaning equipment.
cleaning pool water with baking soda

Pressure cleaners like the Pentair Kreepy Krauly Platinum, Poolvergnuegen PoolCleaner and Polaris Vac Sweep 360 run automatically while you are away from the home, keeping your pool clean and free of algae and bacteria. Because they attach to your pool's pump and filtration system, they can operate safely without any supervision. No additional electrical hookups are necessary, so you can allow the machine to work on its own for hours, ensuring that the pool is clean every time you and your family are ready to enjoy it. There are a number of different factors to consider when thinking about buying a pressure pool cleaner, such as suction, integrated pumps and how compatible it is with your pool. Read on to find out more. If your pool is exposed to a lot of debris, like leaves from surrounding trees and dense landscaping, you should consider investing in a pressure cleaner instead of a smaller pressure side suction cleaner. These are typically lighter and will not have as much power as a pressure pool cleaner that can handle the larger pieces of unwanted dirt and debris that fall into the pool.

Note that because pressure cleaners require more suction, they also require the use of a booster pump. Each model will specify whether or not it has an internal booster pump or if it will require an external one. If the vacuum has an onboard booster, you may still need to ensure that you have a booster line you can connect it to. If it requires an external booster, you will have to contact your pool professional to have a booster pump installed to operate the machine. If you have an above-ground pool, not all pressure pool cleaners will work for you. In fact, most will not. Look for a pressure side suction pool cleaner instead. Most pool vacuums are designed for 8-foot deep ends and a surface area of 10 x 10 feet. If your pool is larger than that, ensure that you get a hose extension so the vacuum can reach to all corners of the pool. If you have a vinyl liner, the manufacturer will specify whether or not the vacuum is suited for that type of surface. Some rotary brushes can damage vinyl or tile.
