The develope one of three things is wrong. The top hose has developed a "memory". Disconnect from surface unit and stretch it out in the sun for several days. Make sure the inline filter/strainer is clean. The Polaris only has two moving parts that go bad. 1. The piston 2. The only other thing that goes bad is the hull or base develops holes which can be found by removing the front "plug" and blowing air into the base. Don't be aggressive with the air. If you use to much pressure for to long you can blow the base apart. After locating the holes they can be patched with silicone.

Not for an Intex above ground pool I bought it for a 12' x 24' above ground Intex pool. The intex pump is BARELY, adequate. So the suction side of the supplied pump was weak at best. So the thought of a "pressure" side cleaner was positive. Unfortunately our pool is placed on sand and the kids have gotten a lot of sand in the bottom of the pool. Although some sand has been removed in 3 days of running the pump, it's not very much. My suggestion is to spend the $175 on an upgraded pump and manually vacuum the pool. Also no has the correct fittings, so after a trip to Home Depot and humungus PVC fittings it was connected. My advice is to pass. I like that this works with the return water instead of the intake and was really looking forward to using it, but I'm doing more work trying to help it clean my pool. I believe it would do a good job on a round pool and maybe oval, but mine is a rectangle and it misses a lot. I let it run for 4 hours and there is always quite a bit that has not been picked up.

I recommend it if you have a round pool. It's easy to use This is my third Polaris 65 you would think I would quit buying them, but I do like how they clean the bottom of the pool, and they are easy to attach to your pool. My only thing that I don't like about them is sometimes they turn on there side or completely over and you have water going everywhere, so you have to run out there real quick and shut your pool off and turn it back over and hope it doesn't do it again, My new one has done it twice now, and we can not figure out why it does it. But other than that its a wonderful product. I purchased this and it does not work. I have read reviews and it has known issues that appear to have been issues for a long period of time yet still continue to persist with no resolve.
