We know there are day clubs and nighttime pool parties. This blogger is a huge fan of both. But let’s say you’re 18 and can’t party just yet or you’re bringing the kiddos and want to cool off together. Or, you just want to have a blast at the pool without the clubby feel.  Just in time for the upcoming Labor Day weekend, we rounded up the best Vegas pool activities that’ll help you keep your cool. And lucky for us, it’ll be nice and sunny in Vegas for the next month and a half. Not to be mistaken with Florida-based rapper Flo Rida, FlowRider at Planet Hollywood’s pool takes you on a different kind of beat. We had the chance to ride the wave earlier this summer. While this is fun for all ages and skill levels, you do have to have some sense of balance. And if you’re not an expert surfer or snowboarder it’s best to start flat on your tummy and boogie board. Once you get the hang of staying on the board and going with the waves, you’ll have a blast (a totally tubular one at that!) on this refreshing, thrill-seeking ride.

The FlowRider is open to both hotel and non-hotel guests. Admission is $25 for 30  minutes. All-day passes are also available. You must be at least 48 inches to ride the wave. Cue the tropical music. You might be in the heart of the Strip at Flamingo, but you’ll feel miles away from the bustle. You can party at the hotel’s adult-friendly GO Pool, but the Beach Club Pool is fun for families and thrill-seekers alike. Here you can enjoy water slides that’ll have you screaming in glee and waterfalls you can hide behind (or sit beneath) to escape the heat. Plus, all the amazing greenery makes this a popular Vegas hotel pool destination. This pool is exclusive to hotel guests, but locals can access GO Pool for $25. If you have time, check out the free Wildlife Habitat and take some selfies with flamingos, exotic birds and turtles. If you’re into chess, then you’ll love the submerged, life-size chess pieces at Delano Beach Club. Show off your skills and socialize with other pool goers.

The lazy river has a 3 mph current, slow enough for you to mix and mingle with that cutie on the raft in front of you. best steam mop on tile floorsMandalay Beach also has several palm trees, waterfalls, a sand beach and even a wave pool. Monte Carlo also has a lazy river called the Easy River ride and a wave pool. The kiddos can bask in style with their own wading pool and child-sized beach chairs. MGM Grand also has a lazy river. Since this is a popular resort, keep in mind you might be shoulder to shoulder with fellow swimmers. Tip: We always suggest renting a raft. Even though you might have some strangers clinging on to your float, pay no mind to them. You can work on your tan while enjoying the ride. You can still multitask while doing nothing at all. All three lazy rivers are for hotel guests only, with the exception of Mandalay Beach summer events. This may not be Cancun, but you can pretend it is for half the day.

White sand beaches have already become a thing on the Strip, with Mandalay Beach and Rio as popular go-to spots. If you don’t mind a 30-minute drive away from the Strip, Riatta Beach at Lake Las Vegas is definitely worth it. Not only do they have a beach, but there’s also a decent-sized manmade lake where you can kayak, paddle board and do other water activities. And while we’re way past our sand castle days, we’re almost sure you’d be tempted to build one. Access to Riatta Beach is available for Hilton Lake Las Vegas, Westin Lake Las Vegas and Aston MonteLago Village Resort guests. Sand beaches are great, but rooftop pools might be your cup of tea. And we’re definitely not knockin’ on that, either. We love rooftop pools, especially in Vegas. At Paris Las Vegas’ Soleil Pool, you can work on your tan while admiring an up-close view of the Eiffel Tower. And while the Stratosphere Tower is at the end of the Strip, it still catches our attention. We feel the same way about its pool, Radius.

Located on the 25th floor, you’ll be spoiled with views of the Strip and the surrounding mountains. Pair sunset views with a signature cocktail in your hand and you’ve seriously got it made. Drai’s Beach Club is another one of our favorite Vegas rooftop pools. On weekends it’s all all-out, crazy day club experience but throughout the week, the vibe couldn’t be more opposite. Depending on availability, you can plop on any of the day beds and feel like a million bucks. This is also a fine time to peek across the street and see the Bellagio fountains show. LUX Pool at SLS offers a similar vibe and this blogger is a huge fan of both. Unlike its party-loving sister Foxtail Pool, LUX Pool is a lot more chill. The layout is simple too – you’ll find pool loungers all around the rectangular center pool, with the bar conveniently located at one end. And if it’s not too busy, the large cabana at the opposite end offers air-conditioning and comfy seating for free. The Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is a favorite for tourists and locals alike.

Not only does Boulevard Pool host nighttime poolside concerts, you can also watch movies here during the summer. Hosted every Monday night from end of May through mid-September, watch your favorite classics, enjoy snacks and even take a dip in the pool. And luckily, you have two more chances: Sept. 7 you can see “Rango” at 7 p.m. and “Life of Pi” at 9 p.m. On Sept. 14, the entire family can watch “Kung Fu Panda” and “Kung Fu Panda 2.” The kids will love you for it. The cost is only $5 per person, but free for hotel guests. Swim with the sharks? Your thought is probably um, no thanks! Flashbacks of “Jaws” may even come to mind. But here it’s a different story. Come to The Tank at Golden Nugget, which has an enclosed water slide that zips through a 200,000 gallon shark aquarium. You’ll find several shark species, sting rays and exotic fish from around the world. Take a break and relax on one of the wicker chairs and admire the aquarium, along with the pool’s waterfalls.
