Which Las Vegas hotel pools are open year-round? While many pools are seasonal, virtually every major hotel resort in Las Vegas has at least one pool that's heated year-round, and often hot tubs, too. Just click this link for our up-to-date list of all the hotels with permanently open pools, plus the temperature they're heated to. Are any hotel pools open to the public? While the majority of Las Vegas pools are for hotel guests only, there's a definite trend towards admitting non-guests, often with no charge during the off-season and for a fee during the busy summer months.
If a pool hosts events like parties and concerts, these are almost always open to the public (again, for a fee -- usually free to hotel guests). For the full line-up of open pools and poolside events, check out our Cool Pools section, which is constantly updated. Something else to note is that a number of the hotel spas have a swimming pool that's open to anyone who's using the treatment facilities, so that's another option worth bearing in mind. Do any Las Vegas pools allow topless sunbathing? Yes, currently eight Las Vegas pools permit European-style (topless) sunbathing. Some are open to the public while others are for hotel guests only. Click here for the current list of topless-friendly pools and click here for a history of topless sunbathing in Las Vegas. Note that all pools with European-style sunbathing admit patrons aged 21+ only. Are there any hotels with indoor pools? The Tropicana was, for many years, the only hotel in Las Vegas with an indoor pool (it's actually an indoor/outdoor pool that's sectioned-off in the winter months for indoor-only use).
The Platinum non-gaming hotel, which opened in 2006, also has an indoor/outdoor pool. Both of these are for hotel guests only. Which are the most kid-friendly pools in Vegas? A number of Las Vegas's hotel pools include water slides, lazy rivers, sandy beaches, wave machines, waterfalls, and other child-friendly amenities. Among the most popular are Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Flamingo, Monte Carlo, Tropicana, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, and Golden Nugget (which has a slide going right through the central shark tank). Can I bring my own alcohol to the pool?Alcoholic beverages and usually any soft drinks and food must all be purchased poolside. Why aren't pools open at night? Partly because of manpower issues -- the hotel doesn't want to have to pay for a lifeguard to watch over the couple of people who choose to stay poolside when everyone else has migrated to the casino -- plus, the property would generally prefer you to be spending your money at one of its indoor dining or entertainment options than taking a dip in the hot tub.
