They realized that their customers want vacuum cleaners specifically designed for pet hair. Here is a comparison chart of some of the more popular pet hair-specific vacuum cleaners: Animal DC23, DC24, DC25, DC28, and DC41 Overall, Dyson enjoys very high customer ratings.  Most customers say that these Dyson Animal vacuums do the job as advertised:  They pick up cat and dog hair.  The few customers who dislike these Dyson models mostly complain about parts that have required replacement after a year or less. Final Thoughts on These Vacuums One thing to remember when considering the different vacuums listed above is that there are plenty of other vacuum cleaners that do not have "pet" or "animal" in their names but still get the job done. The Shark Navigator, for example, does not have the word "pet" in its name but is still an excellent vacuum for pet hair or any other application. Of the vacuum cleaners listed above, the Dyson models enjoy the best overall reviews from customers and from review sites. However, Dysons are also notoriously expensive.
