BISSELL 1543A Symphony Pet All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop Review Up to the face the rigors of my house – as well as my dog and cat – is the BISSELL 1543A Symphony Pet All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop. If you aren’t familiar with this product, then let me tell you exactly what it is. It’s an all-in-one, so it’s basically a cyclonic vacuum and a steam mop all rolled into one. Much like the  Bissell 1132A Symphony All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop – except this one is optimized for pet messes. Or so BISSELL claims. I’m going to put it to the test and find out.The first thing that I noticed about this all-in-one is that it is a lot like BISSELL 1132A. In fact, I’ve noticed that some people claim that these two products are the same, except for the fact that the 1543A was cheaper at the time of this review. However, what I think these people are neglecting to realize is that while they do look alike (except for color schemes), there are some differences between the two.For instance, this model doesn’t have an adjustable handle like the 1132A does.

While that’s quite a shame, it is made up for by this all-in-one by presenting us with several new features. This includes a tank that can be emptied with one hand, specialized pet bristles and improved suction. All of which I can verify, personally.Like its older brother, the BISSELL 1543A Symphony Pet All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop assembles fairly quickly and is ready to go in no time. Since I own a St. Bernard that likes to shed all over my living room floor, I decided to test it out in there. After adding in the water and waiting a minute, I was ready to clean up my living room carpet.As I cleaned, I noticed that, much like the 1132A, I was able to vacuum or use steam or use steam and vacuum at the same time. This allowed me to pick up the hair in no time and I quickly realized that this machine did have an increased suction boost over the previous model.Next, I took it into the kitchen and tried it out there. I noticed that on my linoleum floors, this machine really worked exceptionally well and did a beautiful job.

It not only got up the dirt and grime, but it also got up the all of my dog’s hair. In fact, it did such a good job I decided to take it over to my friend’s house and put it to the real test.You see, my friend lives in the country and has sort of a dog boarding service. She always has a few dogs at her house, so I wanted to really put this all-in-one steamer to the test. So I packed it over tried it out on her carpets – after they had been walked all over by 6 different dogs.I figured this steam cleaner would do a good job on their carpets, but it didn’t do as well as I expected. After a few moments, I noticed that all of the dog hair that was on my friend’s carpet (sorry, Sarah), began to clog up the machine. This necessitated me having to pull out the pet hair from the bristles, which was pretty difficult and dump the tank more often. That’s why I figured this all-in-one steamer probably wasn’t good for large animal messes.If I have to take everything into consideration – both the good and the bad – then I’d have to say that the BISSELL 1543A Symphony Pet All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop is a pretty good steamer for those of you who have pets, or even for those of you who don’t.
