The best vacuum cleaner doesn’t always mean expensive, though there are many great models on the higher-end if you are looking to splurge. A good vacuum cleaner is one that offers good value for the price, a multitude of functions, powerful motor and suction ability and one that won’t stop running after a few months. After spending many hours reviewing upright vacuums, canister vacuums, bagless vacuums and many others, rest assured that the ones we recommend give you the best suck for your buck. There are many lower amped cleaners out there that clean just as well as those with high amps. The amps that the motor has simply refers to the electrical current of the motor, not how well it will perform. Your vacuum cleaner’s performance will depend on the airflow that it receives, the amount of suction it is able to produce and the overall design of the product.

These days most vacuum cleaners come standard with HEPA filters, though some do not. Paying attention to the type of filter a vacuum has is extremely important, especially if you have allergies, asthma or other breathing problems. Having a cleaner with a HEPA filter is certainly a good idea that can greatly improve the air circulating in your home. Most vacuum cleaners will have attachments as well. These are very important as they provide many additional uses and benefits to your cleaner, such as the ability to clean upholstery, in between the sofa cushions and even on the stairs. Pet owners will surely appreciate tools that help remove pet hair.

It’s the perfect tool for getting the birds eye view of the vacuum cleaner market you need and you won’t find anything like it elsewhere online.Electrolux began operations in the early 1900's. It is a Swedish multinational with headquarters in Stockholm. In terms of revenues it is the second largest household appliance manufacturer in the world. With respect to vacuum cleaners, the company makes stick vacs (like the Ergorapido), canisters, uprights, central vacuum systems and steam cleaners. Electrolux vacuums tend to be moderately priced with some leaning towards expensive. Several of the company’'s canisters have made the cut in our top vacuum lists. Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Plus Monday, 06 June 2016 Avg. consumer rating = 85/100 This model, EL2055B, is a cordless 2-in-1 stick and handheld vacuum cleaner.  Consumer ratings are good and the vacuum sports over 20 minutes of run time with a 4 hour recharge time.  The vacuum is lightweight and quite maneuverable.
It also has the ability to stand upright so you don’t have to find a place to lean it (often a bit of an annoyance with stick vacs).  The dust canister on the EL2055B is quite small however and it requires frequent emptying.  A number of owners also lament the fact that this model does not include a charging base. Electrolux UltraFlex EL4335A Canister Vacuum Tuesday, 15 December 2015 Avg. consumer rating = 96/100 The Electrolux UltraFlex EL4335A has been getting some impressive consumer ratings as can be seen by the high score of 96/100. This bagless canister vacuum has a washable HEPA filter and a sealed system which make it ideal for those suffering from allergies or asthma. It is also designed for bare floors and low-to-high pile carpet, and comes with specialized bare floor and carpet nozzles. The pros far outweigh the cons with this vacuum, however there are a few issues such as the narrow cleaning path width and smallish dust canister. Electrolux Precision Upright Vacuum EL8807A
Thursday, 08 May 2014 Avg. consumer rating = 78/100 The Electrolux Precision EL8807A is a bagless upright with fairly average consumer ratings.  Highlights of the machine include an easy-to-use hose and wand assembly, and a unique brushroll cleaning system.  The Precision is designed for both carpet and bare floors and it includes a couple of tools that increase cleaning flexibility.  However some owners report being concerned about the extent of plastic used in the unit's construction. Also the limited number of height settings make movement and cleaning on carpet a bit tricky. Electrolux EL4071A Access T8 Canister Vacuum Monday, 10 June 2013 Avg. consumer rating = 69/100 The Electrolux Access T8, model EL4071A, gets very average reviews and ratings from consumers.  It is one of the lowest rated Electrolux vacuums we have investigated.  The main drawbacks are its limited effectiveness on carpet and short power cord.  These two shortcomings are an issue for quite a few owners and comments bear this out.
It would only be fair, however, to point out that under the right circumstances – a smaller home with mostly bare floors for example - the T8 does appear to perform adequately. Electrolux Ultra Silencer Deep Clean EL7060A Canister Vacuum Monday, 23 January 2012 Avg. consumer rating = 66/100 On paper the Electrolux Ultra Silencer EL7060A sounds impressive.  It comes with many features including a sealed HEPA system, suction control, automatic cord rewind and a 5-year warranty.  It also has powerful suction, is lightweight and is very quiet.  With all of these qualities one would expect this Electrolux canister vacuum to get great consumer ratings – but ratings are lackluster.  Owners allude to a number of issues and while some do like the machine there are a sufficient number of low ratings to make one take notice. Electrolux Ergospace Green Canister Vacuum Tuesday, 13 December 2011 Avg. consumer rating = 83/100 The Electrolux Ergospace Green gets fairly good reviews and is lightweight, easy to maneuver and very quiet.
It works well on hardwood floors and is environmentally friendly being made in part of recycled plastic.  The vacuum is also packed in unbleached recycled cardboard. The brushbar is air-driven however and while the Ergospace is effective on bare floors some owners report that it does not excel on carpet. Electrolux Ergorapido Ion Stick Vac EL1030A Thursday, 20 October 2011 Avg. consumer rating = 78/100 The latest Ergorapido has one major improvement over previous models – the Lithium Ion battery.  Lithium Ion batteries recharge must faster than the NiMH batteries used in older Ergorapido models and they also provide fade-free power.  The new 18V battery also ensures strong suction for a stick vac.  Owners Like that the vacuum is lightweight, maneuverable and comes with a built-in handheld vacuum.  It is great on hard surfaces but like many stick vacuums it is only average on carpet. Electrolux UltraActive Deepclean EL4300A Canister Vacuum Wednesday, 12 October 2011
Avg. consumer rating = 79/100 This is a lightweight and maneuverable canister vacuum with a motorized brushbar making it capable on both carpet and bare floors.  Owners like that it is quiet, powerful and even has multiple suction settings.  However some consumers wish the UltraActive Deepclean EL4300A had more on-board storage for attachments. Electrolux Nimble Upright Vacuum, EL8602A Friday, 12 August 2011 Avg. consumer rating = 80/100 The Electrolux Nimble looks great on paper and has good features but some owners struggle with certain aspects of the machine.  As a result, consumer ratings are not as high as one might expect.  The machine does have its proponents and some folks swear it is better than a Dyson but there are a number of detractors who feel that it is too heavy, hard to push on carpet and the plastic used in the construction of the machine isn’t sturdy enough. Electrolux EL6988E Oxygen Canister Vacuum Cleaner Review Friday, 04 June 2010
Avg. consumer rating = 70/100 The Electrolux EL6988E Oxygen Canister Vacuum Cleaner is a lightweight, quiet, bagged vacuum.  This vacuum also comes with HEPA filtration and consumers do feel it is effective on most surfaces.  It is a little expensive however and some folks feel the bags are on the small side. Electrolux EL6984A UltraSilencer Green Canister Vacuum Cleaner Thursday, 29 April 2010 Avg. consumer rating = 85/100 The Electrolux EL6984A UltraSilencer is a lightweight and extremely quiet bagged canister vacuum cleaner.  It gets top grades from consumers for it’s ability to clean hard surfaces (wood, tile, lino, etc) and for its quiet operation, but seems to fall a little short when cleaning carpet (in particular deep-pile carpet). Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright Vacuum Cleaner Thursday, 25 February 2010 Avg. consumer rating = 74/100 The Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright is a powerful, lightweight, inexpensive vacuum cleaner.
Amazon’'s price of 108 bucks right now (as of this writing) seems like a pretty amazing deal - the Electrolux site posts an MSRP of 299.99USD. This is a bagged vacuum cleaner.  Some people like a bagged machine because they do not have to clean out a “dirt canister”.  However with a bagged machine you do have consumables – in the form of vacuum cleaner bags.  Some folks actually clean out the bags and re-use them. Electrolux EL7055B Twin Clean Bagless Canister Vacuum Review Thursday, 26 November 2009 Avg. consumer rating = 61/100 The Electrolux EL7055B Twin Clean is a bagless, canister vacuum cleaner with a self-cleaning filter system.  It is not getting great ratings from owners, but it comes with several tools and is purported by Electrolux to be effective on bare floors, hardwood, stairs, carpets & rugs.  Consumers feel it is better on carpet than on bare floors however. Electrolux EL1012A Stick Hand Vac 2 N 1 Ergorapido Cordless Review Thursday, 17 September 2009
Avg. consumer rating = 78/100 The EL1012A stick vac got fairly good reviews when it first came out.  Ratings have slipped a little over time however.  The machine's full name is the Electrolux EL1012A Stick Hand Vac 2 N 1 Ergorapido Cordless - we sometimes wish vacuum cleaner manufacturers would find a way to make less complicated names.  Consumer ratings for the vacuum are average.  Suction power is good and the built in handheld is a nice feature but the lengthy recharge time is an issue for some owners. Electrolux EL6985B Harmony Ultra Quiet Canister Vacuum Review Sunday, 26 July 2009 Avg. consumer rating = 78/100 The Electrolux EL6985B is an interesting approach to a vacuum cleaner (it is similar to the EL6984A), focusing on reducing the vacuum noise level. We wish this was an idea more vacuum cleaner manufacturers would consider.  Electrolux has clearly been successful in making the EL6985B quiet given consumer comments - but how does it stand up to the competition with respect to other key features?
